My Experience with Auto-Tune

So by now I’m sure everyone in the world know’s Auto-Tune’s capabilities.  I for one, knew what it could do but did not have any first hand experience with the program.  Well that changed a couple nights ago as I went into my best friends studio and straight up went BONKERS with the program.  He finally got his iLock to work with the program so it was like the Auto-Tune christening.

I think the funniest part is that in the Auto-Tune manual, there is a chapter for the “T-Pain sound”.  The company, Antares, actually tells you how to program Auto-Tune so you can sing “Bartender”, “I Can’t Believe It”, “Sprung”, and all the other T-Pain hits.

Yes, it even works for the non-singing folks! Actually that’s what the program was intended to do; help folks like Keyshia Cole sound good on wax but unfortunately can’t help her live. Well due to the problems that Keyshia has faced, some artists now are using their Pro Tools session during a live performance so with that being executed, you can have Auto-Tune running while you are singing (like in the studio) so your concert becomes a studio session with you sounding all perfect. Gotta love technology!

Well, here is the product of my craziness mixed with Auto-Tune. Hope you like it. Mind you, this was just freestylin’ so if it sounds hella random, now you know. Enjoy
