So this past Friday while “investing my money” at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City, I experienced one of those “I feel bad/Wait, why are you complaining?” moments at the Roulette Table. Some of you may disagree with what I’m about to say but hey, its a free country right?
The time is about 6pm and I’m probably about $75 up at the table when this young black guy, probably about 26, decides to come over to the table. As he approaches the table, I notice the gaudy chain, white tee, fitted, sagged jeans, and the patent leather Prada’s. Now here comes the mystery that to this day, I don’t think anyone at this table knows what happened. He walks up to the table with a $25 chip in his hand and then it just vanishes. We looked all over for that chip. We basically stopped the game for a couple minutes so we could scour the casino floor that surrounded the table and the tables on each side of ours just to find this man’s chip. I mean it got to the point where he said “Man, that’s my last $25 too man. I shoulda just held on to it”, as well as some other expletives that will go unmentioned.
So 5 minutes have passed and still no sign of this chip that vanished into thin air. Right then, my man reaches into his pocket and does what I considered the unthinkable. Dude pulls a WAD of $100s out his pocket and starts counting them! At that point I’m thinking to myself “My man loses a $25 chip and wants to whine like a baby, but then decides to pull at least a STACK out of his pocket and still has the balls to complain?”.
I know some of you may not agree with me and may say “well maybe he didnt want to touch that money”. That’s BS! If he wanted that money back so bad, its really nothing to make $25 at a table where the minimum bet is $15. All he had to do was put $100 on the table, and play Red or Black for $15 until he made $25. I mean you’ve got a 50/50 chance! Now if he never pulled that money out of his pocket I would have felt for the man. However, this guy pulls out a lump sum equal to rent money so that’s when all those “man that sucks” feelings go out the window.
Was he saving those $100’s to pull a Pacman Jones at the strip club later or buy out the Bar at Club Worship? I don’t know. What I do know is that if he would have just played with that $100, his money would have come up just as fast as his $25 vanished. You may have seemed like the man later that night with all the hoodrats and white chicks but in the words of Hov, “Nigga you ain’t ballin/ you just pump faking it”…
